How Do Faculty Discuss Justice Pedagogies with Their Peers? Program Models From Across CUNY

December 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

How can we better prepare ourselves to teach at the most ethnically diverse campus in the nation?

How do our own identities, and our conscious and unconscious assumptions about others, impact our teaching and learning practices?

To what extent are we developing a classroom culture and teaching style that respects and values each student?

How might we create spaces for faculty dialogue about identity, implicit bias, and working with diverse student populations?

At this session, we’ll discuss various models and resources that faculty and staff at other CUNY schools have used or developed to address these (and other) questions on their own campuses.

Join us for a brief presentation of our findings followed by an open discussion as we explore potential models for creating a collaborative learning community for faculty at Baruch that addresses ways we may all move toward more equitable pedagogies.
